Philippines and Israel actively participated in HWPL’s ‘peace education’

As if those who see it with their own eyes know everything clearly, the most active peace education is taking place in the Philippines, a country that witnessed the miracle of peace through the ‘Mindanao Civilian Peace Agreement’.

On January 25, 2016, during the 24th World Peace Tour, MOA signing ceremony of the HWPL Peace Education was held at Polytechnic University in Cotabato City, Philippines. With approximately 5,000 people in attendance, including 16 school principals and professors and students, a signboard-hanging ceremony was held to designate Polytechnic University as an HWPL Peace School. 16 school principals were appointed as HWPL honorary ambassadors.

During the 26th World Peace Tour, MOA was signed with the Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

On January 23, 2018, MOA was signed with the Commission on Higher Education of the Philippines (CHED), a government-affiliated organization that manages educational institutions beyond universities in the Philippines. The Commission on Higher Education of the Philippines (CHED is a presidential state institution and supervises over 1,000 institutions of higher education (universities and higher).

Commissioner Ronald Adamat has been preparing to promote HWPL's peace work since attending the 3rd anniversary ceremony of the 2017 September 18 Peace Summit held in Korea. As a result, the MOA was signed on this day to express the will to specify and implement peace education.

Starting with national universities, HWPL peace education will be implemented throughout the Philippines. On the day of the signing, chairman Lee's peace lecture was held at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, informing the successful start of cooperation between the two organizations.

Meanwhile, during the 22nd World Peace Tour, the educational institution in Israel nominated Man Hee Lee as the principal of the Peace School. On December 2, 2015, Mar Elias Educational Institutions in Israel was designated as the world's first HWPL peace school.

The founder of this educational institution nominated chairman Lee as honorary principal. Mar Elias Educational Institutions is a comprehensive educational institution established in 1978 that offers a full educational courses from kindergarten to university.

This educational institution was established to achieve peace and interfaith harmony, including Arab Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, and about 3,000 students enrolled.
