Designation of HWPL Peace Schools in each country




In order to pass on a world without war to future generations, systematic peace education must be provided above all. Traditional educational institutions around the world that know this well are paying attention to HWPL's peace movement. Countries around the world are requesting chairman Man Hee Lee’s peace lecture and introducing HWPL's peace education. In particular, countries that have suffered from long-term wars and conflicts are feeling the need for peace education more strongly.


Israel, Kosovo, India, and the Philippines, which took the lead in introducing HWPL peace education, are all countries that have experienced the pain of war and civil strife. Currently, a total of 303 educational institutions in 47 countries have been designated as HWPL's peace schools and are nurturing peace talents for the new era. 


The University of Kosovo Pristina became HWPL's Peace School during the 22nd World Peace Tour. The University of Pristina has approximately 30,000 students. One of the professor at this school is a member of the legislation of International Law of HWPL Peace Committee. He said, “By attending the HWPL 9.18 World Peace Summit, I learned the clear answer to peace. So, in order to inform the youth of Kosovo about this, we invited chairman Man Hee Lee to the school.”


On this day, the University of Pristina made a special commitment through the 'HWPL Peace School Resolution' and awarded a plaque of appreciation to chairman Lee.


During the 23rd World Peace Tour, a monument of declaration of world peace was erected at one of school in India. Also, a ceremony to commemorate being selected as HWPL peace school was held at the school along with the establishment of declaration of world peace monument. Students of this school welcomed chairman Man Hee Lee, the messenger of peace.


This school has over 2,000 students in elementary, middle, and high schools and five schools, including this school, were selected as HWPL peace schools.

Philippines and Israel actively participated in HWPL’s ‘peace education’




As if those who see it with their own eyes know everything clearly, the most active peace education is taking place in the Philippines, a country that witnessed the miracle of peace through the ‘Mindanao Civilian Peace Agreement’.


On January 25, 2016, during the 24th World Peace Tour, MOA signing ceremony of the HWPL Peace Education was held at Polytechnic University in Cotabato City, Philippines. With approximately 5,000 people in attendance, including 16 school principals and professors and students, a signboard-hanging ceremony was held to designate Polytechnic University as an HWPL Peace School. 16 school principals were appointed as HWPL honorary ambassadors.


During the 26th World Peace Tour, MOA was signed with the Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHED).


On January 23, 2018, MOA was signed with the Commission on Higher Education of the Philippines (CHED), a government-affiliated organization that manages educational institutions beyond universities in the Philippines. The Commission on Higher Education of the Philippines (CHED is a presidential state institution and supervises over 1,000 institutions of higher education (universities and higher).


Commissioner Ronald Adamat has been preparing to promote HWPL's peace work since attending the 3rd anniversary ceremony of the 2017 September 18 Peace Summit held in Korea. As a result, the MOA was signed on this day to express the will to specify and implement peace education.


Starting with national universities, HWPL peace education will be implemented throughout the Philippines. On the day of the signing, chairman Lee's peace lecture was held at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, informing the successful start of cooperation between the two organizations.


Meanwhile, during the 22nd World Peace Tour, the educational institution in Israel nominated Man Hee Lee as the principal of the Peace School. On December 2, 2015, Mar Elias Educational Institutions in Israel was designated as the world's first HWPL peace school.


The founder of this educational institution nominated chairman Lee as honorary principal. Mar Elias Educational Institutions is a comprehensive educational institution established in 1978 that offers a full educational courses from kindergarten to university.


This educational institution was established to achieve peace and interfaith harmony, including Arab Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, and about 3,000 students enrolled.

Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL and the HWPL peace delegation receive a warm welcome wherever they go. On the days when the HWPL peace delegation arrives in each country, the airport is crowded with youth and local residents who voluntarily gather to welcome them. This is because people in the world is thirsty for ‘peace,. Peace was a dream that has never been achieved in history. Youth follow this leader, calling him the ‘Father of Peace.'. Each country expressed their support and gratitude for HWPL's peace activities by honoring the HWPL peace delegation. 


Chairman Man Hee Lee and peace delegation visited Los Angeles International Airport for the 25th peace tour. The airport is filled with welcoming crowds. A foreign reporter interviewed chairman Lee who visited Los Angeles International Airport again for the 28th peace tour the following year. 


On May 4, 2017, the peace delegation visited New York's John F. Kennedy Airport for the 25th peace tour, and local eminent persons presented gifts to chairman Lee. This is a picture of a local police car attending to the peace delegation moving from the airport on this day.

[HWPL Moments - Lectures and talks for enactment of international law] Germany, Norway, and Romania speak in unison to support peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula



In the 27th World Peace Tour, Germany, Norway, and Romania supported the 'peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula.'

In Frankfurt, Germany, European peace experts and peace activists from Korea met. HWPL held a pan-European peace forum to urge international cooperation for the realization of world peace and international support for the peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula.

At this forum, chairman Man Hee Lee said, “Just because peace has been achieved in one country does not mean world peace. The whole world must achieve peace." urging all of humanity to participate in building peace. IPYG, the wing of HWPL, welcomed chairman Man Hee Lee and the HWPL peace delegation who visited Sweden and held a peace forum under the title of 'Positive Change for Tomorrow'. Chairman Lee expressed gratitude for Sweden's efforts in participating in the Korean War and urged women and youth to participate in the work of peace, working together in a field of peace rather than war.



The 'Peace and Reconciliation' conference was held in Oslo, Norway, attended by about 200 political and social leaders. On this day, attendees said they expected the peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula leading to world peace.

A peace conference was held at the Romanian National Assembly under the theme of ‘Support for the peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula through empathy and solidarity.’ At this meeting, opinions were gathered that in order for peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula and world peace to become a reality, empathy and solid solidarity are necessary.

Masterpiece Romania Branch held a youth conference. Masterpiece Romania Branch is support group of IPYG. Masterpiece Romania Branch provided an opportunity for Romanian youth to participate in international peace activities promoted by HWPL and IPYG.



Romanian youth who met chairman Man Hee Lee listened to chairman Lee's voice, emphasizing 'the role and importance of youth in each country because youth are the main players in achieving peace. At the end of the event, youth who attended conference wrote 'peace letter' urging the president of their country to accept DPCW.

In May, peace events was held at 89 locations in 59 countries to commemorate 10 years of citizen-led peacebuilding efforts. 5,000 participants gathered at the Peace Gate of Olympic Park in Seoul, South Korea, and many people from the United States, China, Japan, Australia, and Germany participated in the event. 




This world-class event held under the official title of 'HWPL's Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace and Peace Walk' is held, jointly being sponsored by the international NGO Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) under the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and public and private organizations in other countries.


Chairman Man Hee Lee said, "After declaring peace in the global village (to achieve it together) 10 years ago, I went around the world and shouted for peace. I shouted that peace should be taught at home and at school, and that everyone should become a messenger of peace. I was promised not to fight a war by shouting peace at battlefield of Mindanao the Philippines.", expressing his thoughts on HWPL's peace activities for the past 10 years. In addition, he emphasized, "Everyone should unite under the title of peace and work together to create a good world and make it a legacy for future generations. This is what we need to do in this era in which we live." 




At the event, the 'Joint Statement of 10th Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace' was announced. The statement indicates that this declaration has evolved into a global declaration of word peace and cessation of war in pursuit of a transition from the rule of force to the rule of law, based on the principles of "democracy, justice, civil liberties and equality, religious freedom and responsibility." He also said that during his 10 years of peacebuilding, he had achieved millions of participants in interreligious dialogue, peace education, peace urging for national leaders, and youth networks in more than 120 countries. 


Through the joint statement, HWPL and participating organizations confirmed their will to institutionalize peace through international cooperation in accordance with UN Sustainable Development Goal ''Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions'. They promise to engage in mediation efforts, raising awareness, providing education in conflict zones, empowering youth and women, and promoting best practices for civil society engagement. 





At the event in Korea, IPYG affiliated organizations united and delivered a plaque of appreciation to Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL for his dedication and contributions to world peace. In addition, along with a moment of silence for the soldiers sacrificed in the war, chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL who is a Korean War veteran, presented a certificate of appreciation to a person of merit for the Korean War. 


HWPL announced an ambitious goal of gaining the support of 10 million citizens through signatures in support of the enactment of an international law for peace. In addition, various commemorative events are being held to establish peace in local communities around the world.
