 'Gas stations will change'...
4 oil refinery company, started
charging business for electric vehicle

In Korea, we have 4 oil refinery company such as SK energy, GS Caltex, Hyundai Oilbank and S-Oil. These companies established a service system with charger manufacturers and charging service companies in order to convert their gas stations to electric vehicle charging station. It is part of a future strategy to respond to the growing demand for electric vehicles.

The oil refining industry is planning to gradually convert the existing gas station to an charging station from next year. All 4 refineries established a cooperation system with electric vehicle charger manufacturers and charging service companies. Is has begun to convert gas stations nationwide into electric vehicle charging stations. Now, we can experience the change in the era of electric vehicles when looking at all four refineries have secured necessary service technologies and product for the electric vehicle charging business.

Most of refineries have partners and are making models in the form of directly operating charging stations. According to the service business strategy for each company, they plan to establish systematization of charging facilities and service models in its own form from next year.

As the electric vehicle market is still in its infancy, through government subsidy projects minimizing initial investment, they plan to gradually increase the amount of conversion to ultra fast chargers at charging stations according to electric vehicle demand. SK energy will install and operate 190 charging stations by 2023. GS Caltex will build 160 and Hyundai Oilbank will build 200. From 2022 onwards, the conversion of charging stations is expected to accelerate considering the situation in which there are only a few electric vehicle models capable of super fast charging of 300kW or higher.

These four refineries plan to expand not only gas stations but also distribution to charging service infrastructure while specializing in specific rates and service systems for corporate customers such as freight electric trucks and electric taxis.

 Self-massage using massage ball

With the development of science such as the AI industry, our lives have become more convenient. But, as the frequency of movement of the body decreases, the importance of exercise is being emphasized. Many people know that maintaining the right posture and proper exercise is essential. Including me, it is hard to practice and the amount of exercise decreases. As the posture collapses, it is exposed to diseases of the musculoskeletal system and this causes pain throughout the body. In order to solve these problems, it is important to perform prevention and treatment such as massage, stretching and physical therapy when it is needed. Today I'd like to introduce you the representative areas that needs massage and how to do self-massage.

How can I recover my unstable body?
Typical musculoskeletal disease include turtle neck, round shoulder, twisted spine and pelvis. If you use a cellphone or computer for a long time, you may get an imbalance in your body. When the body's alignment becomes unstable, certain parts become tense and others may weaken. In this case, the weakened part should be restored to the muscle function. And tensioned areas should be relieve by stretching or massaging. At this time, you can use your hands but you can use a tool called a 'self-massage ball' for more efficient massage.
Features of self massage ball
The self-massage ball is aimed at relaxing muscles through compression. Because of this, it has a solid and round shape for rolling. The shape is largely divided into two types which single and double. By the way, I personally have both types. The double massage ball can be used to accurately massage the area where both sides are symmetrical around the spine.
Single Massage Ball : It is a generally known round ball shape that allows intensive massage to areas that are difficult to reach. (Recommended areas : sole, calves, buttocks, thighs, arms)
Double Massage Ball :  It has two single balls attached to it. And, the middle part is a little apart making it look like a peanut. Therefore, it helps to avoid feeling awkward when massaging the back, waist, and pelvis while lying down. (Recommended area : pelvis, waist, back, scapula(between wing bones), under the back of the head, armpits)
Let's take care of yourself anywhere with a massage ball
Body discomfort can come anytime anywhere. In particular, physical discomfort caused by long-term desk work in the office must be managed. Put a massage ball in your bag or keep it in your office drawer and do a self-massage during breaks. You can prevent musculoskeletal disorders and body pain by pressing your body down as you normally do.
(I'd like to share personal experience. I have all kinds of massage ball including peanut ball and single ball. I prefer trigger point massage ball or literally tennis ball worked good for me. I massage about an hour after work. I have all kinds of pain around neck, shoulder, back, pelvis and hip joint. Without these, I cant even get up next morning. You will be able to find out more video online. Enjoy!)

Chuseok

 Chuseok

Chuseok is a term referring to the full moon of the eighth month of the lunar calendar. It is the leading holiday of the year meaning the month in the middle of autumn and the day in the middle of August.

If you interpret Chuseok literally, it means that autumn evening and furthermore the moonlight in autumn is the best night. Also, it has the meaning of a good holiday when the moon is exceptionally bright. Therefore, Chuseok can be said to be a term with a very symbolic meaning.

The night of Chuseok called moonrock since moonlight is the best on Chuseok. The holiday food for New Year's Day is rice cake soup. Otherwise, the holiday food of Chuseok is Song Pyeon. In holidays, ancestral rites are made and family, relatives and neighbors share a meal. So Song Pyeon is a symbol of autumn.

In Korea, we have seasonal food because  it is extremely sensitive to the season. And we have four season. Among many kinds of rice cake, Gae Pi rice cake and Song Pyeon are spring and autumn foods since whether is neither hot nor cold. Song Pyeon in spring refreshes old rice with pine from pine sol. But, Song Pyeon in autumn makes the scent of pine more clear.

Song Pyeon is made by kneading rice flour into a round shape with fresh green beans, sesame, chestnut, jujube, sweet potato, dried persimmon, cinnamon powder, etc. The name Song Pyeon was given because pine needles were laid every time it was steamed. Taro soup with Song Pyeon is also served on the occasion of the Chuseok holiday. Taro soup is boiled by mixing kelp and beef. Also there are several kinds of Korean pancakes which is made with flour and eggs. These foods are also for Chuseok memorial service table.  Steamed chicken goes on that table. For Chuseok, wee prepare various kinds of seasoned vegetables.

Korean service those foods for ancestors on memorial service table. Descendant bow two times in front of the table. After that, family and relatives sit around the big table and share food talking each other.

Many people in Korea postpone visiting parents' and relatives house because of corona crisis. I hope Corona crisis is finished so we can get back to normal life.

‘Let's reconnect railway from North to South by culture’…DMZ Peace Concert

Korea is the only divided country in the world. In the midst of this, a meaningful concert were held at Dora Mountain located at the northernmost part of Gyeongui Line. In the concert, famous musicians from inside and outside country gathered in one place to promote north and south railway reconnecting before the first anniversary of 9.19 Inter-Korean military agreement.

A melody of peace and harmony echoed DMZ (demilitarized zone). The world-class cello player Yo-Yo Ma came at this event. Yo-Yo Ma has played the melody of peace in conflict areas around the world. This time, he played Bach's accompaniment cello at DMZ. The Korean song 'missing Kumgang Mt.' were sung with the young musicians from North Korea. I personally wish South and North reunite again. This is the reason I support peace movement by HWPL.

Yo-Yo ma said "Through culture we can dream together. And together we can achieve the impossible." Arirang melodies harmonizing South and North resonate and the excitement rises to the folk song. Over 400 audiences including displace people, soldiers and students gave their applause to the stage of world-renowned masters and Korean traditional musicians. The elementary school student who participated in the event said "It would be nice if we could unify quickly and we could go to North Korea or Europe on this train." The audience tied the ribbons together to pray for peace between South and North.

HWPL will show heavenly culture to the audience on coming 18th of September. I invite all of you to this peace movement.

Let's listen to the voices of the participants who participated in 'Legislate Peace Project'

1. Rev. Tshuma Masimango Katembo, Mr. Jean de Dieu Munyembabazi, Democratic Republic of Congo

"We found the hope from Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) of HWPL.” all the 10 articles were exactly what DRC has needed. we announced the campaign of Peace to more than 100 leaders from different religious background and others stakeholders who held an offline signature ceremony, which was for the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War to be introduced to the United Nations through HWPL of Korea to become an enforceable international law. All religious leaders promised to inform the Declaration of Peace for Cessation of War to their congregation members, because it was an important cause aiming to stop wars, massacre in Beni, DRC and secure peace in the world. Accompanied by leaders of religions, youths and other volunteers from ODI, we started to go from door to door, church to church, school to school requesting people humbly to support the Declaration of peace and Cessation of Wars through their signatures. As a fruit of patience and courage, they collected 18,500 signatures out of 20.000 signatures needed. This was publically circulated and announced by different radios in DRC."
2. Mr. Dragomir G. Marian(President of MasterPeace Romania)

"We, peace teachers will keep moving on for continuous peace education so that it would be deeply rooted in Romania, and also we will stand at the front line for the implementation of DPCW for our future so that our students could live in peace."

3. Nazeeb Sulayman Ibraheem, Reporter, Radio Nigeria

"I am doing peace work because, without peace, I may not have grown to be educated, I may not have lived without fear of being consumed by violence or war. We can achieve peace work as journalists only if we actively, effectively carry factual stories and peacefully help in heart-to-heart discussions of objective analysis of situations with stakeholders like government officials, peace experts, civil society experts, youth and religious leaders. THE Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) is the most important peace document today. "

4. H.E. Karim Khalili, Former Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan

"I support the efficacy of his movement to ensure the maintenance of human dignity and restoration of peace throughout the world. It is more than twenty years that Afghanistan has been at war with international terrorsm and has witnessed daily fear of losing lives to deadly terror attacks and other violence. In its past four decades of war, millions of its citizens were displaced, took refuge and disabled; moreover, huge financial damage has been inflicted to its economy, Therefore, Afghanistan, more than any other country can understand the importance of peace and an end to all wars and violence to achieve their long waited desire which is peace and human dignity. I warmly appreciate HWPL for organizing "Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War" program which can surely draw world's attention to the vital 133 need of peace and its impact on human societies."

5. Prof. Oleksandr Zadorozhnii¸ Former President of Ukrainian Association of International Law

"It is very technical, modern, and well written enough to be implemented. The core contents of the declaration are good. I have helped its translation because the contents were all good. But the main problem now is to make this into a legally binding document. On a legal aspect, there is nothing I should add or modify to the current contents of the declaration as they are good enough. But a problem would be how to implement the contents of the declaration. Perhaps Articles 9 and 10 are not based on their legal implement, but this would be concerned with volunteers, youth and women organizations instead. I totally agree with the contents and the structure of the declaration and have no other suggestion. The purpose and essence of the declaration perfectly goes along with the foreign policies of Ukraine. I support all the activities of HWPL and the DPCW because this is very important."

6. Aung Myint Thu/Manaung Youth Networking Group, Executive Director/Myanmar

" In 2017, I decided myself I would actively participate in ending Civil Wars in Myanmar because it is already 70 years fighting. In 2018, this year I became one of young leaders, spokesperson, at Social Sector at Union Peace Conference- which is the top political Dialogue in Myanmar'' where we write we make Principle, policy, Laws which are to end the conflicts.
In 2018 conference, we discussed the importance of children and women, Refugee, Education and Health. Just before the conference, I got a email from IPYG about this WARP summit. When I saw about DPCW which we are working on to become an international Law as UN resolutions, I said myself '' Right, this is what I have been dreaming - I will be one of the World Peace Maker to make HWPL dream come true.
UN has not had this kind of international Law in UN. Therefore, it is the time for regional leaders, national leaders and international leaders to support DPCW and make the world have peace. And, let make this vocabulary ''War (W-A-R)'' disappear from our dictionary and our daily life talks. Let educate the Civil Society and get strength from them and make DPCW as an international law together. "

7. Herculano Amaral/International Rotary Club of Dili Lafaek,Director/Timor-Leste

"Looking at these stories, Timorese people have been suffering a lot. A range of crimes and violence have been experienced which including massacres, tortures, kidnapping, rape and so on and so forth. You could have imagined how hard it was living in their own country and going through these situations. This kind of situation have brought many children lost their parents and many people had lost their beloved ones.
However, the reconciliation was the weapon and is the weapon of living as a great neighbour in the world. (Can you please give a round applause?) The reconciliation was the weapon for us to live as a great neighbour in the world. Today, we are very proud living in an independent country yet many things that our leaders are still working on, so that our people can live in prosperous and live in harmony and peaceful lives. However, to achieve this, it’s not that easy as many people have been facing physiologically trauma and stressful and so on and so forth.
IPYG Timor-Leste is also working hand by hand with the IWPG Timor-Leste to plan more peace activities such as Peace through Sports, Clean up for Peace, Peace for Concert, Planting Trees and many more things. Moreover, we hope to include more young people so that we can create more spaces for spreading the culture of peace. However, to achieve this, it should be done by cultivating a culture of respecting each other and mutual trust within people to people and states to states levels. "

8. Monk Phramaha Monchai Saitanaporn, from Wat Phra Dhammakaya Berlin

"All religions speak of peace, but unfortunately religion has become one the causes for the greatest conflicts in human history. DPCW deals with these issues of religion which may be sensitive and includes specific provisions to resolve religious conflicts. Article 8 of the DPCW contains provisions to deal with these things. Like so, the DPCW contains the necessarily legal provisions to cut off religious conflicts, protect the freedom of religion, and encourage inter-religious dialogues. DPCW Article 9 states that if such disputes are prevented but are not resolved and continue to be caused by religion, then strong legal actions will be taken against them. That is why I strongly believe that the DPCW is the method to achieve peace."

9. Soraya Salie, Founding member of the Bonteheuwel Walking Ladies, South Africa

"It is simple to understand, yet very powerful. Out of the 10 articles, we are actively advocating for Article 10 - spreading a Culture of Peace. This is easy because it does not cost money. All you give is kindness and nurturing, which is freely given. There is great advantage within this article. Our Peace committee is active in a community that is known as a high violence region, so we focus on this aspect of Spreading Peace as it is a simple and dynamic way to allow our community to have pride in Bonteheuwel ~ our beautiful, bountiful and blessed community of Bonteheuwel in Cape Town, South Africa."

Wow, there are lots of people participating in 'Legislate Peace Project'. You can do it too. Please write a peace letter for peace.
